WELINA MAI KĀKOU....

Meet Kahealani Kamahele, a Honolulu native with a rich educational and cultural background. Educated at Star of the Sea School in O'ahu's Wai'alae district, Kahealani later pursued higher education in Southern California, earning a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University.

With a deep passion for martial arts, Kahealani holds a 4th degree black belt in Shotokan Karate and is an experienced karate instructor. Her cultural roots are evident in her 30+ years of teaching hula. She currently imparts her knowledge of Hawaiian dance at Loyola Marymount University and is a proud member of the Kūlia I Ka Pūnāwai Kumu Hula Association of Southern California since February 2021. Her past teaching experiences include UCLA's Hawaii Club, and she has participated in numerous festivals, showcasing the vibrant culture of Hawaii through dance.

What is included:
We are a culturally focused hālau which includes learning the Hawaiian language and cultural practices. Each class is one hour long and meets once a week.
